Holdo was going to tell Poe the plan. When he storms on to the bridge demanding to know here plan, she opens her mouth to tell him. Poe then interrupts, calls her a traitor and a coward, and gets kicked off the bridge. Poe then goes and tells Finn, on an unsecured line where anyone could hear him (and DJ does) what the plan is. Holdo is pretty vindicated for not telling him anything, I think.
I often wonder if the audience knew what the plan was if the reaction against Holdo would have been more accepting. If part of the problem is that the plan was kept from US and we felt we had a right to know. I also wonder if Holdo looked more like whatever Poe thought she was supposed to look like if the audience would have had a more metered response.
