Location: Waiting room for a junior high school principal's office. Three junior high school students.

Hariet Brindle paces: I've never been called to the Principal's office before. Never. Never ever. Never ever ev-

Vicki Lawson in a flat, though never strictly monotone voice: You have adequately expressed your history.

Hariet: Never ever ever ever

Vicki: You can stop, immediately by preference.

Jamie Lawson: You can both calm down. I'm probably the only one in trouble.

Hariet: Never, ever ever ever ever.

Vicki: I find that unacceptable.

Jamie: You want more people in trouble.

Hariet: No! Nobody should be in trouble!

This meant that, when Reggie turned his attentions on myself and my new friend *indicates self and Hariet* Jamie could not reasonably trust the staff to attend our defense.

Principal: So, you're blaming Reggie.

Vicki: You are the one with the most power and authority. I am blaming you. I will state my case.

Principal: I don't care.

Mrs. Lawson: Well, I do. You go right ahead, honey.

Vicki is silent.

Mrs. Lawson: I meant you, Vicki.

Vicki nods: Incident the first...
