Establishing Shot: A desert. Jagged rocky cliffs. Roads that cut through mountains, between jagged, rocky cliffs. Cacti dot the landscape. Somewhere, an abandoned sign on a wooden post, reading simply "oh no".

Simba: Thank you all. I know it's unusual to meet on peaceful terms like this. My own canon lacks for established characters that aren't privileged by my administration. I was wondering how your political system works.

Beaky Buzzard: Noooo no no no no huh huh nope no no. We don't have a political system, here.

Foghorn Leghorn: I say, I say, what we have here is an ecosystem, nothing like a unified government.

Wile E. Coyote: Speaking in my capacity as a self-certified Suuuper Genius *momentarily displays the certificate* I can say that our canon, such that there's any consistency at all, is actually a better representation of an ecosystem than your own.

Simba: My canon has an entire song about a circle of life.

Wile E. Coyote: Which may seem very holistic and worshipful of nature but that is exactly the problem. Nature is not a unified force. Nature, as in wilderness, is different living things acting, surviving, reproducing, in a world that includes many other living things that are acting, surviving, and reproducing.

Wile E. Coyote: And, of course, hubris and aggression leading to comedic failure.

Foghorn Leghorn: And, I say, we have multiple moral roles. I'm both the good guy and the bad guy, depending on situation. I say that's a basic living condition reality. Perspective.

Aslan: But, with clear identification of good and evil.

Wile E. Coyote: That is debatable at best. I believe we deal mostly in morally neutral positions. We neither blame the coyote for hunting its prey nor blame the road runner for defying the laws of physics to run through a painting on a cliff-side as though it was a tunnel, causing the coyote to impact with said cliff-side.

Aslan: Such a debate is expected from the likes of you. *Aslan looks to Simba* What are you doing with these petty amusements?

Foghorn Leghorn: I say, I take exception to that! Petty! There is nothing petty about me!

Wile E. Coyote: I would say that we're far more indicative of cultural evolution than some classist, monarchistic bit of history worship.

Aslan turns and roars at Foghorn and Wile, blowing back their respective feathers and fur.

Foghorn cocks a brow: Now that was just downright rude.

Wile E. Coyote: Oh, I've so wanted a reason to use this line.

Aslan exasperated: What line?

Wile E. Coyote: Of course you know, this means war.

Simba: Would you two mind waiting a bit for that war? I think there's a conversation that has to happen here. Please?

Foghorn Leghorn: Well you did, I say you did say please. That's good manners.

Wile E. Coyote: Very well.

Simba give the two a light bow: Thank you. *then he turns to walk alongside Aslan*

Aslan: What are you doing here, of all places?

Simba: I'm getting information from alternate perspectives. That's one of the things a King should do.

Aslan: No, you're being influenced by that villain axis of Susan's.

Simba: I'm more being influenced by Templeton, from Charlotte's Web.

Aslan: The selfish rat.

Simba: Selfish, maybe. I suppose it's easier to be generous when you have a lot to be generous with.

Aslan: What kind of moral relativism are you talking about?

Simba: I'm talking about perspectives that are needed, but that I'm missing, so I'm getting them.

Aslan: You're diluting your moral integrity, denying your story of ascendance.

Simba: No, I'm staying true to the heart of my story, which I'm coming to think demands that I take second looks at all those I thought to be evil, including my own murderous uncle.

Aslan: Don't tell me you're turning to a villain!

Simba: No. In my first movie, I started out spoiled and looking for nothing more than to be King so that I could do what I wanted. Then, I ran away in fear of being found out as a murderer, found the life where I could do what I wanted, but had to learn my error in both parts. In my second movie, I cast out Scar's family for the grave crime of being related to Scar. They hadn't murdered my father. They had only been related. I learned the error of that.

Simba: My story is that of a man constantly learning his errors and growing wiser in the consideration of his wrongs. Sometimes that means wiser in taking responsibility and being active, sometimes that means wiser in learning when not to act. Now, I'm learning to be wiser in taking a second look at both people and morals that once seemed clearest cut.

Simba: And, I'm learning that it's easy to think of the light as the best idea of goodness when it's so easy to live in the light.

Aslan: You are being corrupted. And, it's my place to put you on your right path.

Simba: Maybe. Maybe I'll learn that I'm wrong to question things... I doubt it, though. But, you have your own lessons to learn.

Aslan: What lesson is that?

Simba: The perils of hubris before those you think small. If I judge by previous cartoons, you'll learn that lesson in about three to five minutes. And, you'll start now.

Aslan: How's that?

Simba: Have you noticed how this path has narrowed? Maybe you should take a second and look down.
