Before I go into this I want to note three things.

Firstly, RedSixWing gave me the basic idea. Thank you.

Secondly, in comments over on Slacktivist, Dragoness_E gave me a good note on how not to go forward. Thank you.

Both of you had a big influence in how this turned out.

Thirdly, Seed of Bismuth didn't like how I did this, but did have their own thoughts. I would have stolen them for another Case, but there was talk of maybe doing a webcomic and I really want to see how that would go.

That said, for our Extended Cinematic Universe, we've established the world and the conflict and now can roll on into a stage wherein both sides are actively recruiting. And, that can make the premise of some movies.

In one case, the vampire can be aware of a figure that is adept at stealth, laying traps, even at abductions and assassinations. What's more, the figure even has a psychology that gives the figure an easy point of manipulation.

In order to maintain control of that figure, a person who prefers to leave no trace of themselves to be but a phantom save for the appreciation of opera, the means is the capture and control of another person, one Christine Daee. Christine Daee is an established opera singer, a socialite who's married well, seemingly an easy abduction to make.

That is, of course, a mistake. Christine Daee is, among other things in addition to being a socialite and an opera singer, a survivor of the Phantom's obsession and connected to the organization that has sought to protect humanity from the monsters. She's not the only target of supernatural obsession in the world. She hosts "young socialites" or briefly hires "entertaining servants", but really she acts as something of a half-way house for those escaping such monsters.

Her husband, Raul, is aware of this and, despite being having his concerns for her safety, supportive and willing to lend aid to the cause.

Both Christine and Raul have the requisite combat skills to make action scenes. But, Christine excels at social manipulation and situational awareness.

Situational awareness means that any initial attempt at ambush or stealth abduction (such as drugged food) would be quickly identified and counter-measured. She'll notice the unusual clicks or strange motions and be ready. Yes, sometimes she can be ready for a confrontation that never happens, but as with umbrellas, it's better to have the readiness and not need it than the other way around.

The social manipulation manifests in three major ways. One is the manner in which she can subtlety move people of importance to be roadblocks to people who might be following her. Another is her ability to communicate with people and find things out that they don't want to be known. A third is her ability to present an image of an utterly vapid (though artistically talented) socialite while doing the first two.

Throughout this, the vampire manages to negotiate terms with the Phantom. Certain contact with Christine and her voice, as well as control thereof, in exchange for being employed, by the eventual rulers of the world, for the use of his skills.

The fact that, by the end of the movie, Christine is not abducted and not within the confines of the Mummy or the Vampire doesn't end that deal. The reason is that, one way or another (a writing challenge, sure) they manage only to abduct Raul. While Raul isn't the one that the Phantom wants, it is true that Christine loves him and that this can be used as a means of controlling Christine.

This is proven through a brief contact, via phone call, allowed between Raul and Christine. During this contact, Raul makes subtle reference to various operas that both he and Christine know well. Those operas are indications of what Raul knows of useful information as well as permission given to sacrifice his life if need be.

At the same time, the original target of the vampire and Jekyl/Hyde have their own task. Early in the movie, Jekyl/Hyde make a clear point about the value of the target. The vampire fears the once-target. That's why the tauntings are always from a distance. It's used to note why the target would be useful even without any skills.

That said, those skills do prove valuable, as well as Jykyl/Hyde's psychological expertise. Their task is to recruit someone for their side. This isn't going to be easy as this person, much like the Phantom, prefers to avoid direct contact.

What they don't know is that, both for recruitment and out of curiosity, the Pharoah has come to look for the same subject.

The subject is of definite interest. Not only is the subject quite strong, but possessed of great intellect. By the subject's own statements, he has a great capacity for both love and hate... it's just that he has not been given opportunity for the former and has indulged the latter. For both sides of this effort, it's risky, but worth the effort with the other set against them.

The name of the subject is going to be difficult, because the subject, to all available evidence, was not given a name. In the time since the subject was last known, it's hard to tell what name the subject would have taken on. A number of people have tried to name the subject "Adam", but the subject visibly rejects that name as there are better, smarter biblical references to be made.

The subject also rejects the name Frankenstein, as that was the name of the one who made him. But, that one was no father, so there's no desire to take on that familial attachment.

What will happen is a background of conflict between the two teams, but the foreground of the story will be talking with the monster. And, he does look the monster. He's obviously composed of mismatched body parts, including eyes mismatched in both size and color. Additionally, he can act the monster and has.

But, both sides have something to offer him. The Pharoah can offer him high place in the new rulership of the world, perhaps even as a ruler, himself. If the world will not love him, it will at least obey him.

The other side doesn't have ruler-ship to offer, but can offer personal acceptance. And, they can offer a world that is changing, is more accepting of the different. The Hyde persona will not be helpful, here. He'll point out that much of the acceptance will be performative, making him a thing to be used.

It's not that the Hyde persona is against the team. He has no love of the Pharoah's way of things. But, he also has no love of dishonesty or requiring people to play roles outside their nature.

Which one will recruit him? Which vision will he choose for changing the world to better fit his presence within?

When I say "make a webcomic" if I'm being honest is about as literal as "when pigs fly".

And with these all (more or less) being public domain you have my complete blessing to use or not use my giant ramble/rant on How I'd fix the Universe Monster Movie Universe. For whatever It inspired you to want to write.
