Establishing Shot: The tents of a semi-nomadic tribe of herdsmen as seen from very far away. Robed men with staffs tend to herds of goats. Too far to be recognized in specific at first.

Camera moves closer and also moves slowly from side to side. The sound of breathing up close. ((definitely not shaky cam!)) As the camera approaches the tribe, the goat herds move away from the tents. Women scream. Children cry.

Voice from just behind the camera gasps and breaks into a run.

Cut to inside the village.

Shenzi: Oh come on, now, really? For these stories, you should be used to talking animals by now! We're not even making a glance at your goats.

Banzai (quieter): Well, Ed's not exactly putting them at ease.

Camera moves to show Minotaur carrying Ed in the manner of an American Football. Ed glares at the goat-herders, snaps at them when they look in his direction. Beside him, Fenris sits... being Fenris.

Shenzi: And Fenris isn't exactly a calming presence.

Banzai looks around: Okay, okay, we're not here to talk to any of you. Here's our guy.

Camera turns to witness a largish man running towards the tribe, spear gripped to be ready for battle. He looks like he might be wearing a different kind of clothing from the rest of the tribe. But, the reality becomes apparent that he's wearing a loin cloth and is, otherwise, that hairy that you'd make the mistake.

Shenzi stands to all fours: Esau the man we want to see. We would have met you out in the wilderness but, well... you're a hunter and we're all various degrees of furred.

Esau looks at the group, confused but adopting a ready stance with his spear forward.

The Minotaur gives Esau a look that is, to anybody else, unreadable.

Esau relaxes his stance, but keeps spear in hand.

Banzai: How does he do that?

Ed distracts from his snapping at the herders to chortle.: Madness and savagery and the uncontrolled that exists to be defeated and constrained. We all live in the same Place. Of course we understand each other.

Esau frowns at Ed, then looks back to Shenzi: You want to talk? Talk.

Shenzi: I kind of get what Ed's talking about. We all get to be the same thing, in our respective stories. Our canons refused to acknowledge us for more than that. We all share a need to-

A voice from off screen interrupts: Esau! What is this?!?

Camera turns to see another human man, slimmer and, except for his head, hairless and smooth.

Esau: Jacob, this isn't about you.

Jacob: Oh yes it is. Black Hat Brigade's little furry regimine gearing up to go all violent. This is very much about me, because they want to make me the bad guy. And, they want to convince you to join them.

The Minotaur gives Jacob a look. Ed, still in the grip, gives a low chortle in Jacob's direction.

Banzai looks to Jacob: You know, you could have just kept your mouth shut, right?

Shenzie looks to Esau: You were cheated out of your blessing and your birthright. It wasn't like he wasn't going to get a blessing of his own. It wasn't like he was going to starve, otherwise. The only grave consequence of him not tricking his father to get your blessing or you to get your inheritance would be that you would have had something. Do we really have to work to make him the bad guy?

Jacob: Let's not start into this. Esau, I've already explained that I'm not a perfect person or a perfect character. What we are is an applicable allegory about the self-identity of the Isrealites and how they relate to the rest of the world. By winning my conflicts with trickery and with obscure knowledge of things like animal husbandry-

Ed bursts into cackling laughter.

Jacob: Okay, animal husbandry that doesn't work that way in reality, but that's not the point of the story. The point is that intelligence and knowledge and civilization were my ways of achieving victory. This was about establishing a self-image of the Israelites that focused on matters of study and intellect, far better than focusing on brute strength or barbarism.

Esau narrows his eyes.

Jacob: Don't feel put out. After all, you got yourself an army and two wives out of the deal. And, you forgave me. It's all over and done with.

Fenris: No, it's not. That which is done remains done. Forgiveness of personal debt is one thing, but consequences happen regardless.

Jacob: What consequences? There aren't any consequences. I've got my wives, my flocks, my blessings. There's no conseque...

The Minotaur steps to Jacob, invading personal space. He snorts in his face.

Fenris: The results are still there. Ask of them or don't, they still exist. The weight of them still presses and there is no obligation to pretend that they don't. They still bite. You still feel it. You can feel it alone-This one will never choose to feel it with you-or you can choose not to bare it alone.

Jacob smiles nervously at the Minotaur, his eyes looking over at Esau: Brother, we've talked about this. I can explain it all again, if you want. But, you know this isn't right.

Ed bursts into another bout of cackling: Right! Right! Right! *cackles* Here is right, there is right, everywhere is right and it is always wrong! No more right! Just less wrong!

Esau tilts his head in consideration.
